Morning: Old Delhi (7:00 AM – 10:30 AM)
7:00 AM — Jama Masjid India's largest mosque. Arrive early when it's quiet and the light is beautiful. Free entry (camera fee ₹300).
8:00 AM — Chandni Chowk Walk through the lanes of Old Delhi's legendary market. Try the paranthas at Paranthe Wali Gali and chole bhature at Sita Ram Diwan Chand.
9:30 AM — Red Fort Shah Jahan's magnificent fortress. Walk through the Lahore Gate and explore the palace chambers. Entry: ₹600 for foreigners.
Mid-Morning: New Delhi (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
11:00 AM — Humayun's Tomb The precursor to the Taj Mahal. Stunning Mughal gardens and architecture. Entry: ₹600.
12:00 PM — India Gate Drive past the war memorial and Rajpath (now Kartavya Path). Quick photo stop.
12:30 PM — Qutub Minar The world's tallest brick minaret, dating to 1193. Entry: ₹600.
Afternoon: Lunch & Explore (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
1:00 PM — Lunch at Khan Market or Connaught Place Two of Delhi's best dining areas. Khan Market for upscale cafes, CP for variety.
2:30 PM — Lodhi Gardens A peaceful walk through gardens dotted with 15th-century tombs. Free entry, beautiful any time.
3:30 PM — Gurudwara Bangla Sahib A stunning Sikh temple with a sacred pool. Free entry, serene atmosphere. Everyone is welcome.
Evening: Sunset (5:00 PM onwards)
5:00 PM — Akshardham Temple Spectacular modern Hindu temple complex. Free entry but no cameras/phones allowed inside. Plan 1.5-2 hours.
Alternatively: Head to Hauz Khas Village for sunset drinks and a view of the lake and medieval ruins.
